Inside A Cinco Ranch Modern Remodel
Our San Clemente project in Cinco Ranch was a case study in resilience and strong collaboration that resulted in a gorgeous space for a deserving family.
Some projects start with a clear plan, then life walks in and changes the whole story.
Our San Clemente project in Cinco Ranch began as a beautiful modern Mediterranean remodel with a focused scope and a strong design direction. The home already had great bones, and the goal was to bring warmth, elegance, and function into the spaces the family used most. Veronica Solomon stepped in not only as the designer, but also as the general contractor, guiding the work from vision to completion - managing all the trades people, and moving parts involved in its execution.
That role mattered. On a remodel this layered, someone has to hold the full picture. The design details, the construction schedule, the trades, the material decisions, the surprises behind the walls, and the emotions that come with changing a home all need steady leadership. Veronica served as that point of connection for the client and the team, making sure each piece supported the next.
The original scope touched several key areas of the home. The kitchen was planned as a full remodel, with updates that would make it more functional, more inviting, and more in step with the home’s modern Mediterranean style. The plan was to keep most of the cabinetry, add some new ones and refresh the whole kitchen. The master bathroom renovation was meant to feel calm and refined, with finishes that balanced comfort and sophistication. The secondary bathrooms also needed thoughtful updates, giving them a fresher look while keeping them practical for daily use.
The lower level had its own transformation underway. New wood floors to replace dated 12x12 ceramic tiles, would bring continuity and warmth through the main living areas. Custom millwork would add character, storage, and architectural detail. Furnishings would complete the spaces, giving the home that layered, collected feeling that makes a room feel lived in rather than simply decorated.

Inside A Cinco Ranch Modern Remodel like this, the plan is only half the story. The other half is what happens when the unexpected shows up.
During the process, the team discovered mold. Any homeowner who has been through a remodel knows how unsettling that can feel. It changes the pace. It adds decisions no one wanted to make. It can turn an exciting project into something heavier almost overnight.
But the discovery also gave the team a chance to protect the home properly. The affected areas had to be addressed before the pretty work could continue. That meant stopping, assessing, bringing in the right remediation process, and making sure the house was safe and ready for the next stage. It wasn’t the glamorous part of the project, but it was one of the most important parts.
Veronica’s role as general contractor became especially important here. A mold issue needs coordination, clear communication, and patience. The client needed to understand what was happening without feeling overwhelmed. The trades needed direction so the project could move forward in the right order. The design plan needed to adapt without losing its heart.
That resilience became part of the home’s story. What could have derailed the project instead led to a stronger foundation, literally and emotionally. If there was ever a project that proved The Unexpected Disaster Turns In A Fabulous Space, San Clemente was that kind of transformation.
The success of the project also came from the people who showed up to do the work well. Remodels are personal, but they’re also deeply collaborative. Behind every finished room are skilled tradesmen and trusted vendors who care about the details most people never see.
The flooring crew helped create a seamless flow through the lower level. The millwork team brought structure and presence to the rooms, adding pieces that felt like they belonged to the architecture instead of being added later. Tile installers, painters, countertop fabricators, electricians, plumbers, cabinetry specialists, and furnishing vendors each played a role in moving the home closer to the final vision.
A good contractor knows the work is only as good as the team behind it. Veronica’s relationship with these trades and vendors helped keep the project grounded. The client could see that the people in the home weren’t just checking boxes. They were solving problems, respecting the property, and working toward a shared result.

The client relationship shaped the project in another meaningful way. This wasn’t just a house getting new finishes. It was a home connected to memory, family, and a recent loss.
Design can be powerful in moments like that. It doesn’t erase grief, and it shouldn’t try to. But it can make space for remembrance. It can hold meaningful objects. It can frame a cherished piece in a way that feels intentional. It can carry forward colors, textures, artwork, or collected items that remind a family of someone they love.
At our San Clemente modern remodel, those memorable elements were folded into the design with care. Nothing felt forced. The goal was to honor the loss quietly and beautifully, while still allowing the home to move into its next chapter. That kind of detail takes listening. It also takes restraint. Veronica approached those choices with empathy, understanding that the most meaningful parts of a home aren’t always the largest or most expensive.
The modern Mediterranean direction gave the project a strong design language. Warm wood, soft neutrals, thoughtful millwork, natural textures, and graceful architectural details all worked together. The home didn’t need to shout. It needed to feel grounded, elegant, and personal.

That balance is what makes the finished project so special. The kitchen supports real life. The bathrooms feel refreshed and calm. The wood floors connect the spaces. The lower level has depth and polish through the millwork and furnishings. The repaired areas are no longer the story, but the care taken during remediation remains an important part of the home’s strength.
Our San Clemente Cinco Ranch modern Mediterranean is a reminder that remodeling is rarely a straight line. Even with a strong plan, a skilled team, and beautiful selections, a home can reveal something unexpected. What matters then is how the team responds.

With Veronica Solomon leading as both designer and general contractor, this Cinco Ranch remodel moved through challenge with clarity and care. The result is a modern Mediterranean home that feels beautiful, resilient, and deeply personal, shaped not just by design choices, but by trust, collaboration, and love.
