Benjamin Moore has revealed the Color of the Year for 2026 and I am loving it! Silhouette AF-655 is a sophisticated neutral with refined elegance. It is one of those colors that can stand very strong on its own, and has the power to transforms any space into a haven of elegance and tranquility.
If you have not seen this gorgeous color yet, go ahead and scroll below. In this post I will seek to offer some insight of how you can use Silhouette and what would be great to pair it with for a beautiful and cohesive look. Let's dive in!

The Allure of Silhouette AF-655
Silhouette AF-655 is a deep, muted hue that radiates warmth and sophistication. Its versatility enables it to complement a variety of styles, ranging from modern to traditional. The charm of this shade lies in its capacity to create a calming environment while still making a bold statement.
Studies show that using warmer colors in your space can increase feelings of comfort and serenity. My own experience with warm neutrals support this, and it is one of the reasons why I have enjoyed seeing the trend of neutrals returning - even though you know that I am a huge color loved lover!
While I have not yet used Silhouette in a past project, I have used similar hues with the same result - a distinct shift in the space's atmosphere. Silhouette has that power that goes beyond just paint, evoking feelings of relaxation in places designed for unwinding and rejuvenation. Above you can see that we used a similar color in this holistic healthcare office in Spring TX, where the goal was to promote a restful and calm reception area for the patrons of this practice.

Master Bedroom: A Cozy Retreat
A master bedroom is a space where rest is the priority. Envision the feeling of escape from daily pressures. Silhouette is ideal for creating that first layer for your personal retreat in your home.
I would opt for layering dark tones on walls and ceiling just for the subtle contrast that would bring. To enrich the room's atmosphere, I would integrate various textures in the bedding, draperies, and decorative pillows. I would also bring in some soft pastel accents like blush pink or muted lavender for the color palette. I would ideally incorporate these shades into textiles or an area rugs to help create a fresh contrast, enhancing the cozy vibe. Juxtaposing a bold color with lighter tones increase visual interest in a space.

Powder Room: A Bold Statement
Another great room in your home to incorporate Silhouette is the powder room. These rooms are usually pretty small but can be impactful with the right color choice. A bold statement can be made without overwhelming it. Painting the walls in Silhouette and pairing them with warm brass fixtures would create an elegant space.
Wallpaper is always a first choice for me with powder rooms, but a rich neutral like Silhouette could also elevate the space. In the Richmond TX powder room below, we incorporated a textured wallpaper in deep mocha with gold stripes, but I can also imagine Silhouette as the wall color, contrasted with the brass elements and white accents.

Dining Room: A Warm Gathering Space
The dining room serves as a focal point for family gatherings, and Silhouette can enhance this experience. I would apply Silhouette to the walls and choose a lighter color like a warm white for the trim and ceiling.
To maintain cohesion, selecting a dining table and chairs in natural wood tones would perfectly balance the richness of Silhouette. Adding warm metallic accents, such as gold or brass in light fixtures and table decor, would elevate the ambiance.
The dining room in Richmond, TX, features grasscloth wallpaper rather than Silhouette on the walls. You can see the contrast with the white trim and how incorporating natural wood tones and warm brass elements would enhance the room, creating a rich and cohesive design.

Color Drenching: A Unique Approach
One of the most captivating ways to use Silhouette is through color drenching. This technique involves painting the walls, ceiling, and trim all in the same color for a seamless experience.
In the master bedroom, I would consider color drenching with Silhouette, varying the sheens to add dimension. The matte walls and ceiling would offer a soft backdrop, while a satin finish on the doors and trim would beautifully reflect light.
For the dining room, a similar approach might work. A soft pastel accent on the ceiling could introduce subtle contrast, adding a playful element while retaining the sophistication of Silhouette.
Inspired Ideas for Transforming Spaces
Whether you plan to integrate Silhouette it into your master bedroom, powder room, dining room, or any other room for that matter, this color opens new doors for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
I am excited to see how Silhouette will inspire others to revitalize their spaces for 2026. If you are looking to refresh your space, consider exploring the beauty of Silhouette for your project. If you've already used it, please share your results in the comments below.
